The Dublin Pass Welcomes New Partners

The Dublin Pass, the official sightseeing card for Dublin celebrates its 5th birthday this year with an impressive new line up of participating attractions, tours and special offers.

This autumn, visitors to Dublin who purchase the Dublin Pass can explore Dublin’s Viking heritage at Dublinia & the Viking World, the soon to be launched National Wax Museum PLUS and from early 2010 Glasnevin Cemetery – Ireland’s Necropolis. Special offers and discounts with Collins Day Tours, the Grand Canal Experience, An Evening of Food, Folklore and Fairies at the Brazen Head, as well as City Canal Cruises further enhance the value offered by the Dublin Pass. Howth Tourism, Fallon & Byrne Restaurant and the newly refurbished Talavera Restaurant at the Radisson Blu St. Helen’s Hotel all join an impressive lineup of Dublin Pass participants which now totals over 60.

 2009 has been a positive year for the Dublin Pass with footfall to participating visitor attractions increasing by an average of 17% year to date on the same period in 2008. Increased promotional activities and offer-led incentives have seen sales through Tourist Information Offices and web increase by 19% for the same period. Marketing activities will be reinforced this autumn in an effort to continue these trends for the remainder of the year.

 Frank Magee, Chief Executive of Dublin Tourism says of the Dublin Pass “The Dublin Pass is an extremely effective tool in showcasing what Dublin has to offer and is crucial to Dublin’s tourism industry. It provides visitors with value for money, convenience and flexibility – attributes which are more in demand now than ever before- as well encouraging visitor movement throughout the city and county.”

Now in its fifth year of operation, the Dublin Pass continues to have a positive impact on visitor attractions and participating facilities across the region.

As well as enjoying increased visitor numbers through the programme, Dublin Pass partners benefit from the global exposure of a comprehensive, united marketing strategy which can now present Dublin as a single product.

The Dublin Pass is available for purchase online at www.dublinpass.ieand in Dublin Tourism’s four tourist information offices at Dublin Airport, O’Connell Street, Suffolk Street and Dun Laoghaire Ferry Terminal.
